Brisbane Riverside might soon have a new skyline, after PointCorp submitted plans to develop seven 13-storey residential buildings across a 1.7 hectare site at 25 Donkin St.
The Brisbane City Council said they were “generally supportive of the staged proposal”, which includes 988 one- and two-bedroom apartments. The site will also feature rooftop amenities such as lounges, barbecue areas and pools, as well as cafes and public spaces.
The ambitious three-stage project is a big move for PointCorp. It purchased the site in 2013 for $25.65 million and has on-sold the project to Chinese real estate giant R&F for $80 million.
Currently home to two fully leased office buildings, the Riverside site sits beside the proposed Kurilpa development zone – set to become a high-rise precinct of residential and office buildings. If approved, the PointCorp development will be the first in a series of renewal projects as part of the Kurilpa Masterplan.
